Bethel grad Easter contributes to George Mason victory

Bethel High School graduate Amber Easter contributed four points in George Mason University's 57-56 home win over conference rival the College of William and Mary on Feb. 10 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax.

The George Mason University senior forward and guard also recorded two rebounds, three assists and one steal for the Patriots, who improved to 7-14 on the season and 2-8 in conference, George Mason University's website reported.

George Mason University's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 on the road against the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

Easter is a 2009 graduate of Bethel High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner on the basketball court for the Bruins, finishing her career with more than 1,300 points and 500 rebounds. Easter was a McDonald's all-American nominee and garnered first and second-team all-state and all-district recognition. She was named co-Peninsula District player of the year in 2007-08 as a junior. Easter was also a three-year letter earner on the track team at Bethel. She ranked fourth in the state in the high jump with a personal best of 5-feet 6-inches. Easter was a member of the school band and graduated with highest honors. The daughter of Betty and Jeff Fulgham, she is majoring in psychology at George Mason. She is from Hampton.
