Four Hampton student receive national honor
Four Hampton students were selected recently as national youth correspondents at the 2013 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University.
Alexis Bracey, Sarah Danial and Kaylynn Stephens, all of Hampton and students at Bethel High School, as well as Hampton resident and Hampton High School student Aaron Washington were
nominated at the conference to represent Virginia.
"These individuals have been awarded the opportunity to join a select group of students from across the country to participate in an intensive week-long study of leadership in journalism and the media.The students received their honor because of their academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in journalism and media studies," according to a conference press release.
