Kecoughtan grad Batten plays in Old Dominion loss to James Madison

Kecoughtan High School graduate Dimitri Batten contributed 12 points in Old Dominion's 58-55 home loss to conference rival James Madison on Jan. 2 at the Constant Center in Norfolk, Old Dominion's website reported.

The Old Dominion University sophomore guard also recorded two rebounds, one steal and a block for the Big Blue, who are 2-12 on the season and 0-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Old Dominion's next game is noon Saturday, Jan. 5 at home against Delaware.

Batten, a 6-foot-3 redshirt sophomore guard for Old Dominion University, is a 2010 graduate of Kecoughtan High School. He was twice named the Peninsula District Player of the Year and earned second team all-state honors during his high school career. The Newport News native is the son of Denise Batten and is a sociology major.
